Your Competitors Are Being Cited by AI. You're Not.

Search became three surfaces. Most enterprise sites are built for one.

HYPESTUDIO finds which surface you’re losing on, what’s causing it, and which competitor to take ground from first. Then we hand you the order to do it in.

Not a strategy deck. A ranked list of things to fix, with the evidence attached.

AI Marketing Intelligence

Search Is Three Places Now, Not One

Your buyers still use Google. They also ask an assistant, and they read a machine-written summary before they click anything. Three systems, three sets of rules.

Most enterprise sites were built for the first one and never updated. That isn’t a content problem. It’s structural, and it shows up in the numbers months before anyone can explain it.

The split happened fast. Two years ago a single set of decisions covered the whole of search, and an agency that understood ranking understood everything that mattered. That stopped being true, and most reporting hasn’t caught up.

Classic organic results

Still where most of the volume sits, and still worth winning. The rules here are the ones you already know: relevance, links, page speed, and a site a crawler can actually move through.

This is the surface most agencies stop at. It’s also the one where a monthly report can look healthy while the pipeline behind it goes quiet.

What most sites are missing here is rarely exotic. It’s usually one inherited fault, sitting in a theme or a template, quietly capping every page at once.

AI Overviews

Google now answers the question above the results, and a large share of buyers stop reading there. Winning that space means being the source Google quotes, not the tenth link under it.

That depends on something unglamorous. Your page has to state the answer plainly enough to be lifted out and used on its own.

Pages that bury the answer in the fourth paragraph get skipped, even when they rank well. We see sites holding position two that never appear in a single summary above their own listing.

Assistant answers

ChatGPT, Perplexity and Copilot answer from two things: what they can fetch live, and what they already absorbed about you. Both are influenceable. Neither is influenced by anything on your keyword report.

If your robots.txt blocks their crawlers, you’re invisible to them no matter how you rank. Same result if your pages only assemble properly after JavaScript runs, because what the crawler receives is an empty shell.

We check this first on every engagement, because it’s binary. Either the door is open or it isn’t.

The part that costs money

A company can sit at position three on Google, get cited by none of the three assistants, and lose deals for a year while every dashboard reports normal traffic.

That’s the failure we’re built to catch. It doesn’t announce itself, and no standard SEO report has a column for it.

What You Get

Four deliverables. Each answers a question you can act on, not a metric you can only look at.

Competitive intelligence

Not who your competitors are. How to beat each one, and in what order.

You already know who you’re up against. What’s usually missing is which of them is actually beatable this quarter and which would take two years.

We map who owns each of the three surfaces, what’s carrying them there, and where the gap is narrow enough to close with work you can afford. Then we sequence it, weakest defensible position first.

The output is an order of operations. Attack this one now, this one after the content system is running, leave this one alone until you’ve earned the authority to compete.

AI search readiness

Whether an assistant can find, parse and cite you.

We test crawler access, rendering, schema markup and passage structure against what each system needs, using your live pages rather than a general checklist.

You get a page-level verdict. This one is already citable, this one is invisible because of one fixable thing, this one needs rewriting before it can be quoted at all.

Technical SEO diagnosis

What’s silently capping every page on the site.

Most sites don’t have sixty problems. They have one problem, inherited by sixty pages through a shared theme or template.

Finding the shared cause is the whole job. It turns a rebuild quote into a fortnight of focused work, and it’s the single most valuable thing in most audits we deliver.

We also tell you what to ignore. A long list of low-impact warnings is easy to generate and expensive to act on.

Content system

What to publish, in what sequence, and why.

Every topic tied to a surface it can realistically win on and a competitor it takes ground from. No calendar full of posts nobody searches for.

We write the briefs to be quotable, because a page structured as a clean answer earns citations that a page structured as an essay does not.

You also get the reasoning, not just the list. Knowing why a topic sits third instead of first is what lets your team keep making the calls after the engagement ends.

How the four fit together

The technical diagnosis tells you what’s possible. The competitive map tells you what’s worth doing. The readiness assessment tells you which surface will respond first, and the content system turns all of it into a publishing order your team can actually run.

Delivered separately, each one is a report. Delivered together, they’re a plan with a sequence, which is the only form of this work that survives contact with a real quarter.

Why This Isn't a ChatGPT Prompt

Anyone can ask an AI what’s wrong with their website. You’ll have an answer in about nine seconds, and it will sound completely confident.

That confidence is the problem. It reads identically whether the answer is correct, half right, or invented.

Several models, answering independently

We put the same question to several AI models separately, none of them able to see what the others said. Then we reconcile the results ourselves.

The disagreements are the useful part. When every model agrees, we’ve usually found something obvious that any tool would catch.

When they split, there’s a genuine judgment call buried underneath, and that’s where the insight lives. A single model never shows you that, because it only ever gives you one answer.

A system we built for this, not a chat window

A chat window forgets what it told you, fills gaps with plausible guesses, and drifts toward whatever you seemed to want. None of that is acceptable in something a client will spend money against.

What we run is built for audit work. Fixed checks that run the same way every time, live data pulled from your actual pages, and every finding traced back to a URL you can open yourself.

That’s why our reports ship with the full URL list attached to every claim. If we say eighty-five pages fail a test, the eighty-five are listed. You can check us, and clients do.

A knowledge base updated daily

This field changes weekly. Guidance that was correct in November is actively wrong by March, and most published advice about AI search is already out of date when you read it.

We maintain a knowledge base fed continuously from the practitioners who are actually moving SEO, GEO and AI search, not from recycled blog posts. So what we recommend this quarter reflects how these systems behave this quarter.

Anyone can get an answer now. Getting one you can put a budget behind is a different discipline.

See the Work Before You Buy It

We’d rather show you the work than describe it.

What follows comes from a real audit we delivered to an enterprise client. Their name, domain and page paths are removed. Every number is exactly as we reported it.

889

URLs on the site, 100 sampled

0

Of those pages came back clean

85 of 88

Failed Core Web Vitals on Google’s real-user data

68

Pages had no meta description

The site failed Core Web Vitals at origin level, which is Google’s verdict on the entire domain rather than a single page. That verdict then gets applied to every URL too small to measure on its own.

Seventy-nine pages had incomplete Open Graph tags. That’s why their links rendered as blank grey cards every time anyone shared them on LinkedIn, which nobody internally had connected to the tagging.

Their robots.txt restricted nothing at all, so a crawler walked straight into the WordPress administration area. That one took about ten minutes to fix.

The finding that mattered most

Eighty-five failing pages looks like eighty-five problems. It wasn’t. It was one cause, inherited by every page through the theme.

That distinction is worth more than the rest of the report combined. It’s the difference between a days-long diagnosis and a six-figure rebuild quote from somebody else.

What’s in the full version

The complete report carries the URL list behind every finding, the counting method that produced each number, and a note on what the sample didn’t reach. That last part matters. This crawl never touched 512 of the site’s URLs, and we said so in the report rather than letting the headline figures imply full coverage.

It also states plainly where another tool would disagree with us, and why. Most audits are written to sound authoritative. This one is written to be checked.

Tell us where to send it and we’ll email the full report over.

Who This Is For

This works best for B2B companies between fifty and two hundred employees, where the buying cycle runs for months and the buyer reads everything before they ever make contact. If your prospects research you for six weeks in silence, what AI systems say about you during those six weeks decides whether you reach the shortlist.

It works particularly well when you already rank and it has stopped converting. That gap shows up in the data long before anyone in the building can explain it, and it’s usually one of the three surfaces quietly falling away while the other two hold.

Most of the companies we do this for already have a marketing team and an agency they’re reasonably happy with. What they don’t have is anyone who can tell them why the numbers moved, in terms specific enough to act on.

We’re a poor fit for local businesses competing on map results, for single-page sites, and for anyone who wants a document to file rather than a sequence to execute. We’d rather say so now than three weeks into an engagement neither of us enjoys.

If you’re on WordPress, the architecture side of this work is handled by our co-founder at dejanmarkovic.com. You can also see how this connects to our AI agents and AI automation work.

How Engagements Work

Two stages, and you can stop after the first.

  1. The audit. Fixed price, $1,500 to $3,000 depending on the size of the site, delivered in two to three weeks. You get the technical diagnosis, the competitive map, the AI readiness assessment and a ranked action list. It’s yours to keep whether or not we work together afterwards.
  2. The retainer. Monthly, starting once the audit tells us what the scope actually is. We work the action list, publish against the content system, and track whether assistants start citing you. Priced per scope, never per hour.

We quote the audit as a fixed number deliberately. An hourly rate tells you what we cost. It says nothing about what you’re getting, and it quietly rewards us for being slow.

On implementation: the audit is diagnosis, and diagnosis is where we’re most useful. If you want us doing the fixing as well, that’s the retainer, and we’ll tell you plainly which items your own team can handle faster and cheaper than we can. Paying an agency to rewrite meta descriptions is a poor use of a budget.

Frequently Asked Questions About AI Marketing Intelligence

GEO is the practice of making a website easy for AI systems to find, read and quote when they answer a question. It covers crawler access, page structure, schema markup, and how plainly each page states its answers.

Traditional SEO aims to win a click from a results page. GEO aims to make your site the source an AI cites, in an answer that may never produce a click at all. Both matter, and they need different work.

Regular SEO optimises for ranking positions on a results page. This work optimises for three surfaces at once: classic organic results, AI Overviews, and assistant answers from tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity.

The technical foundation overlaps heavily, so a good SEO programme gets you part of the way. The difference is in what gets prioritised. A page ranking fourth that gets quoted in every AI summary can outperform the page ranking first.

Yes, but indirectly, and not overnight. AI assistants draw on what they can crawl right now and what they absorbed during training. The first is influenceable within days, the second over months.

What works is making your site reachable by assistant crawlers, stating facts about your company plainly and consistently across your own pages, and earning mentions on the sources these systems already trust. What doesn’t work is anything sold as editing a model’s mind directly.

Technical fixes land fastest. Crawler access and rendering problems can change what assistants see within days, and Core Web Vitals improvements usually register in Google’s real-user data within about 28 days.

Competitive and content work runs longer. Expect three to six months before ranking and citation changes are clear enough to call a trend instead of noise. Anyone promising faster than that on the content side is guessing.

Both, as separate stages. The audit is diagnosis and ends with a ranked action list that’s yours outright, whether or not you continue with us.

Implementation runs through the monthly retainer. We’ll also tell you which items your existing team or agency can do faster and cheaper than we can, because we’d rather spend your budget on the work that needs us.

$1,500 to $3,000, fixed, depending on the size of the site. Two to three weeks from kickoff to delivered report.

The price is agreed before we start, so the number you approve is the number you pay. Larger sites sit at the top of the range because the crawl and the competitive mapping simply take longer.

Find Out Which Surface You're Losing On

We’ll run a free technical audit on your site and show you what we find. No deck, no three-call discovery sequence. Just the findings and what they mean.

If it’s worth going further, we’ll tell you. If it isn’t, we’ll tell you that too. That’s how every HYPESTUDIO engagement starts.
